Description

The Former Innerleven East Church, designed by Robertson and Gordon Architects between 1939 and 1941, is a transitional church with a wedge-shaped plan and a helm-roofed tower. It is situated on a triangular site between Methilhaven Road and the north end of Den Walk in Methil. The building is constructed of rendered rubble. A later flat-roofed hall, built in 1963, and an adjoining square-plan outshot at the rear are not considered of special interest.

The church features a projecting chancel at the center of its symmetrical west elevation, which is flanked by flat-roofed transepts made of bull-faced ashlar. There are recessed porches where the transepts meet the chancel. The north elevation includes a two-stage tower topped with a polygonal helm-roof and a slated cap. The entrance to the tower porch is surrounded by droved, polychromatic ashlar. The building also has multi-pane leaded metal windows and slate roofs.
