2 Sands Place, Aberdour

2 Sands Place in Aberdour is a 17th century cottage that has undergone later alterations. It is a single-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan building with a late 20th century L-plan extension added to the east and south sides. The exterior features rendered walls with painted stone margins.

The north elevation, which is the principal facade, has a symmetrical design. It includes a raised threshold leading to a central door, with later 19th century bipartite windows positioned close to the eaves. To the left, there is a setback extension with a centrally located window.

On the east elevation, the gable wall of the cottage shows raggles from a former building to the right, while a modern extension is located to the left.

The south elevation features a modern flat-roofed extension on the right, which includes a door to the right and a large window to the left. The original cottage is set back to the left and has an inserted door.

The west elevation is attached to 3 Sands Place. It has a modern timber and glazed door, along with timber sash and case bipartite windows, where the upper section has four panes and the lower section consists of plate glass. The rear has modern fenestration, and there are two bipartite rooflights on the south side. The roof is steeply pitched, covered with modern interlocking tiles, and features a raised skew on the east side, along with a rendered, corniced gable apex stack and a circular chimney can.
