Description
8 Livingstone Lane in Aberdour is an 18th-century cottage that has undergone later alterations. It is a single-storey, four-bay structure with a modern flat-roofed extension to the southwest. The exterior features rendered walls with painted stone margins around the windows and a curb stone to the north.
The northeast elevation, which is the principal facade, is asymmetrical. It has a door in the first bay that leads to a covered pend, along with three unevenly arranged windows in the other bays, with a window in the second bay positioned close to the eaves.
The northwest elevation displays a plain gable wall of the original cottage, with a window from the extension. The southeast elevation is attached to the property at 6-7 Livingstone Lane.
Inside, the cottage has been modernized. It features a modern door and plate glass timber sash and case windows with horns. The roof is pitched and covered with modern clay pantiles, and it has a raised coped skew, a coped gable apex stack to the northwest, and a small circular chimney can.
