Description

The gateway at Aberdour House dates from the 18th century and has undergone later alterations. It features a pair of large, square-plan gatepiers made of ashlar stone, which are fluted and have banded rustication. Each pier has a moulded cornice cap topped with a ball finial. To the north and east, there are rebuilt connecting walls made of rubble, which are coped and have ashlar long and short quoins at the angles. These walls are surmounted by small, squat obelisks.
