49 And 51 Townsend Place, Kirkcaldy

49 and 51 Townsend Place in Kirkcaldy is an earlier 19th-century small tenement that was altered at the ground level in the later 19th century. It is a two-storey, two-bay building that adjoins No 47 to the west. The exterior features dry-dash with raised stone margins, along with base and eaves courses and stone mullions.

On the south elevation, there is a pitch-roofed, bracketed timber porch adorned with pendant finials and a decorative cast-iron finial. The porch includes a two-leaf panelled timber door located in the bay to the right, while to the left, there is a canted tripartite dormer window. The outer right side has a pend entrance with a timber door and a blocked fanlight.

The first floor has two windows, and there are two 19th-century rooflights above. The timber sash and case windows feature a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks topped with a full set of polygonal cans.
