Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay house with shop at ground, abutting single storey, 4-bay cottage at rear. Squared and snecked rubble with ashlar margins at 1st floor, ashlar blocks to ground floor with ashlar eaves course; W face coursed whinstone rubble and part painted with stone course between floors extending to eaves course of harled cottage. Stone mullion and stop chamfered arrises to dwelling window at ground.

N (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: tripartite shop front to left of centre, dwelling door with plate glass fanlight to right of centre and bipartite window to far right. 1st floor with regular fenestration.

W ELEVATION: large stair window to right of centre with window in flanking bay to left, and 2 bays to right, regular fenestration at 1st floor. Cottage with door to right of centre, window to outer right bay, 2 windows to left.

Fixed 8-pane window with coloured border glazing pattern in stair window, all others modern. Grey slates, ashlar skews and cavetto coped wallhead stacks with full complement of moulded cans. Decorative iron hopper to left. Squat, harled stack to S gable of cottage.
