Royal Bank Of Scotland, 268 High Street, Leslie

The Royal Bank of Scotland, located at 268 High Street in Leslie, is a single-storey, three-bay bank building that likely dates from around 1930 and may have been designed by Peddie and Walker Todd. It is part of a short, irregular terrace and features traditional Scottish architectural details. The rear of the building has been altered with a modern flat roof extension.

The exterior is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone, with an ashlar base course and dressings. The windows have deeply chamfered jambs, and there is an eaves fascia band.

On the north elevation, there is a centrally located door with an architraved surround and a consoled cornice that breaks the eaves, featuring an Art Deco carved panel below. The entrance consists of two-leaf panelled doors and a rectangular fanlight with a leaded glazing pattern that bears a cipher, along with two-leaf, part-glazed inner doors. Flanking the entrance are wide window openings that are glazed with canted small-pane windows. A night deposit box is situated below the window to the right.

The east gable has a steeply pitched roof with an ashlar coped skew and skewblock, along with a coped ashlar gablehead stack. The roof is covered with green slates, and there is a decorative rainwater hopper.
