Description
322-324 High Street in Leslie is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay house that features a shop on the ground floor and is adjacent to a single-storey, four-bay cottage at the rear. The building is constructed of squared and snecked rubble with ashlar margins on the first floor, while the ground floor has ashlar blocks and an ashlar eaves course. The west face is made of coursed whinstone rubble, with part of it painted, and there is a stone course between the floors that extends to the eaves course of the harled cottage. The dwelling's ground floor window has stone mullions and stop-chamfered arrises.
On the north elevation facing High Street, there is a tripartite shop front to the left of center, a dwelling door with a plate glass fanlight to the right of center, and a bipartite window at the far right. The first floor features regular fenestration.
The west elevation includes a large stair window to the right of center, with a window in the flanking bay to the left and two bays to the right, maintaining regular fenestration on the first floor. The cottage has a door to the right of center, a window in the outer right bay, and two windows to the left.
The stair window has a fixed eight-pane design with a colored border glazing pattern, while all other windows are modern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are ashlar skews and cavetto coped wallhead stacks with a full complement of moulded cans. A decorative iron hopper is located to the left, and there is a squat, harled stack on the south gable of the cottage.
