Description
This is a picturesque cottage lodge, likely dating to circa 1860, and forming part of Strathairly House. It is a single-story, asymmetrical building constructed of whin rubble with droved ashlar dressings. The west elevation features a prominent advanced gable on the left side, incorporating a tripartite arch, with a blind quatrefoil above a gablet porch, and a window in the recessed right bay. The north elevation has two windows, one of which is a dummy, and a central gablet bay with a tall ashlar stack heightened in rendered brick. A piended rear wing extends from the main building, and there are two windows on the south elevation. The roof is covered in slate with bracketed eaves. The lodge was not shown on the 1855 Ordnance Survey map. The gatepiers are of no particular historical interest.
