Walled Garden Including Gates, St Colme House

The Walled Garden at St Colme House dates from around the 1830s and may have been remodeled from an earlier structure, as some outbuildings are depicted on John Know's map of 1811. The garden features a two-storey building constructed of random rubble with droved ashlar dressings and has slated piend roofs, with a single stack on the north elevation. The windows are 12-pane sash and case glazing.

On the south elevation facing the garden, the fenestration is irregular, with the wallhead on the right side higher than the two bays on the left. The right-hand bay is obscured by a large lean-to conservatory from the mid to late 19th century.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, consists of three irregular bays and includes two blocked loft openings. The garden itself, dating from around the mid-19th century, is enclosed by tall brick walls topped with ashlar coping, featuring stepped wall-heads and ball finials over brick piers. There are two pairs of modern decorative cast-iron gates adorned with cast heraldic devices.
