Description
The sundial dates to 1878. It is a square structure built of ashlar, designed in a picturesque Gothic style. It is supported by a thick, squat central column and four twisted colonettes with scalloped caps, all set upon a stepped octagonal base. The four faces display dials, with nail-head decoration above. Gabled pinnacles with cusped niches and crests are positioned at the angles, culminating in a tall, crocketed central pinnacle featuring a broken finial. The sundial is located within the grounds of Crawford Priory.
