Description
This is an outbuilding located at Primrose Bank on Haughmill Lane in Windygates, dating from the earlier 20th century. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, designed in a T plan and featuring three bays. The building is constructed of red brick with contrasting quoins and has a chamfered base course. It includes bracketed cills, raised margins, and stone mullions.
The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, is symmetrical. It features a deep-set, panelled timber door with a plate glass fanlight at the center, framed by a concave moulded, pedimented doorcase with moulded brackets. There are tripartite windows in the flanking bays. Above the entrance, there is a small, round-headed dormer window, with canted dormer windows below semi-conical roofs in the flanking bays.
The north elevation is a blank gable with a mutule stack, while the south elevation mirrors the north elevation. The east elevation displays a variety of elements, including a lower T projection at the center.
The glazing patterns include 2 and 4 pane configurations at the ground level on the west side, with a 2 pane upper over a plate glass lower sash in the small dormer window, all featuring timber sash and case windows. The canted dormers have 4 pane glazing in the top opening timber windows, while modern glazing is present elsewhere. The roof is covered with decorative grey slates and features a pitch and platform design, with coped and mutule brick stacks topped with polygonal cans, plain bargeboarding, and overhanging eaves.
Additionally, there is a circular brick outbuilding with a door on the south side, along with an ashlar coped rubble boundary wall.
