War Memorial, Croftamorie, West Wemyss

The War Memorial in Croftamorie, West Wemyss, was designed by Stewart Tod in 1920 and incorporates gatepiers dated 1703. This classical style memorial features a raised central tripartite mural with a segmentally pedimented top, flanked by gatepiers and arrowhead railings. It is constructed from polished ashlar, with rusticated piers and random rubble outer walls.

On the southwest elevation, there is a projecting canted base course and plinth that leads to a dividing course. In the center, below a laurel wreath and a copper plaque, the inscription reads: "This monument recording their names is dedicated to the honoured memory of those who went out from the Burgh of Barony of Wester Wemyss in the Great War 1914-1918 and gave their lives in defence of truth and freedom." Above this, there is a cartouche in an open pediment. The outer bays are divided by flanking pilasters that display the names of the deceased, with additional pilasters next to taller piers dated '17' and '03', topped with a deep cornice and a ball finial.
