Description
61 Main Street in West Wemyss is an early 19th-century pair of two-storey, two-bay crowstepped houses that are linked to the southwest with No 57. The exterior is harled with painted margins.
On the southeast elevation facing Main Street, the ground floor features paired doors located off-centre to the right, a window to the outer right, and a bipartite window in the left bay. There is a segmentally-arched pend entrance with a window above it in the link to the outer left. The first floor has a small bipartite window off-centre to the right, flanked by windows in the adjacent bays.
The northeast elevation, which faces Broad Wynd, has a canted design with a piended roof. The centre flank is blank, while there is a window on each floor in the left bay and a window on the first floor in the right bay.
The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The building features Courtrai tiles and harled stacks with cans.
