Description
57 Main Street in West Wemyss is an early 19th-century house that underwent alterations in the late 19th century. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with crowstepped gables, and it is linked to the northeast with Nos 59 and 61. The exterior is harled with painted margins.
The southeast elevation facing Main Street is symmetrical. It features a timber door at the center of the ground floor with a window above it, and bipartite windows, which are enlargements, in the outer bays on each floor. There is a segmentally-arched pend entrance with a window above it located in the outer right link.
The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with Courtrai tiles, and there are harled stacks with cans.
