Description
38 Main Street in West Wemyss is a late 18th century, two-storey, L-plan former skipper's house, part of an irregular terrace, featuring a crowstepped gable at the rear. The building is harled with an eaves course.
On the northwest elevation facing Main Street, there is a window in the center bay, with additional windows immediately to the left and on the outer right, and three windows on the first floor. The southeast elevation, which faces the shore, has a prominent projecting wing to the right of center that includes a full-height canted window and a crowstepped gable.
The windows on the Main Street side are currently blinded for protection. The roof is pantiled, and there are coped harled stacks and ashlar-coped skews.
