Description
The Wemyss Arms is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay former public house located on a corner site in West Wemyss. The building is harled with painted margins and features ashlar quoin strips.
On the southeast elevation facing Main Street, the ground floor has a door in the center bay, a window to the right, and a window to the left. The first floor has regular fenestration close to the eaves, with a decorative ironwork sign dated 'AD1802' that reads 'WEMYSS ARMS'.
The southwest elevation, which faces Narrow Wynd, is a blank gabled wall with a traditional painted pub sign to the right at the first floor, possibly covering a window. There is a stone forestair that projects to the outer left.
The building has plate glass glazing in fixed timber windows, modern pantiles on the roof, and a brick stack with a thackstane and ashlar-coped skews.
