Description

This building is a large rectangular plan dovecot, likely dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It has undergone alterations in the 18th to 19th centuries to accommodate a winding engine for a nearby mining shaft. The structure is built of rubble sandstone with red brick patching. It features large round-arched openings on the north and south sides, and a tall slender round-arched opening on the west side.

Inside, the upper part contains 415 brick nest boxes that rest on stone slabs. Additionally, there is a section of rubble wall to the south, and to the west, a low circular sandstone rubble capped pit shaft with brick infill and a flat concrete cap.
