Description
This dovecot, located about 15 yards south-west of Glewstone Court, is likely from the 18th century and has some early 20th-century repairs. It is built from sandstone rubble with brick and concrete dressings and has a square plan. The structure has two storeys. The east elevation features one semi-circular brick-headed opening on each floor; the upper opening has two rows of entry holes, while the lower opening contains a 2-light casement window glazed in quarries, topped with Y-tracery. Access is provided from the north side through a ledged door set in a cambered brick arch. A concrete string course runs around the top of the walls just below the merlons. This dovecot is included for its group value.
