Description

Logansland is an 18th-century range of cottages, originally three 3-bay units, with one raised to two storeys around 1800, now combined into a single property. The building is constructed from red sandstone rubble, with more regularly squared rubble used for the first floor section.

The north elevation features a central 3-bay house with a central consoled slab porch over the front door, flanked by windows. Above, there are three first-floor windows, set above an ashlar band course. To the left, three single-storey bays are visible; these have a central door flanked by windows, and quoins remain from an earlier house, interrupting the walling to the right. To the right, a further three single-storey bays are detailed in a similar style, but with a slightly higher eaves line and a pilastered door surround with rounded angles to the lintel. Boarded doors are present. A single-storey outbuilding adjoins the right-hand side, with a small window to the left and an acute angle to the right.

The south elevation is dominated by a semi-circular stairwell to the centre of the two-storey section, with a catslide roof. A dilapidated, modern porch sits in the re-entrant angle to the right, and windows are located in the flanking bays on both the ground and first floors. To the right and left, single-storey cottages are slightly recessed. A narrow, covered projection juts out from the right-hand cottage, while the left cottage has a door and a window.

Most windows are sash and case, with a variety of glazing patterns, predominantly 12-pane and 4-pane. Brick gable end stacks are visible on the central cottages, and ashlar coped skews are present. The westernmost cottage has a steeply pitched gable. The roof is covered with pantiles. A rubble coped rubble garden wall stands at the rear of the property.
