Tree Tops, Main Street, Garvald

Tree Tops is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house located on Main Street, Garvald. The house is constructed of red rubble sandstone, squared and coursed to its south front, with painted ashlar margins and some coarse pointing. The south elevation features three bays grouped towards the centre. A central door, complete with a two-pane fanlight and panelled door, is flanked by windows. Each bay also contains windows at the first floor level. The north elevation exhibits irregular openings and a low doorway on the right side. The gables are blank, and the house was formerly adjoined to its east gable. The windows are sash and case, with a twelve-pane glazing pattern, which were restored and reglazed post-1979. Gable end stacks are present, along with ashlar coped skews and slates. Inside, the original central staircase has been retained. The property is enclosed by rubble boundary walls.
