Description

The Dovecot at Congalton Gardens is possibly from the 16th century and features a two-stage beehive design, measuring 15 feet in diameter. The exterior is constructed from rubble and is harled, with a rat-course present. It has a low doorway and retains the remains of a shallow cone cap covered with slates. At the rear, a curved rubble wall encircles the dovecot, backed by a brick wall. Inside, the dovecot has circular tiers lined with nesting boxes.
