Description
The dovecot at Abbey Farm on Nungate Road, dating from the 17th century, features a three-stage oblong plan and measures approximately 32 feet by 16 feet. It is situated on a sloping site and constructed from rubble sandstone, which is heavily pointed at intervals. Projecting string courses divide the structure, and there are crowsteps, which were formerly coped, on the east and west sides. The roof is slate and has a crowstepped central division. On the south elevation, there are two grouped timber doors that lead to two interior chambers.
