Lych Gate, Studio, The Grange, Grange Road, North Berwick

The Studio at The Grange on Grange Road in North Berwick was designed by R S Lorimer in 1904. This single-storey cottage is built of random rubble with ashlar dressings and features a gable roof with an M shape on the west side. To the left, there is a projecting porch with a lean-to pentice roof that has a buttress in the re-entrant angle. The porch is supported by a knobbly tree trunk column and has mock-branch beams above in the half-gable head, along with windows that display a honeycomb leaded glazing pattern. On the right side, there is a flat-roofed addition. To the left, a crenellated block is recessed and includes a partly filled window at ground level, along with a tourelle at the northeast corner. The roof is covered with red plain tiles, and there is timber barge boarding and a small stack.

Inside, the studio features timber panelling.

Additionally, there is a lych-gate made of timber piers that support a piend-roofed porch, with coped rubble walls to the east and west. This lych-gate is located to the west of the studio.
