Powerhouse Cottage, The Grange, Grange Road, North Berwick

Powerhouse Cottage, located at The Grange on Grange Road in North Berwick, was designed by R S Lorimer in 1904. This two-storey cottage features an inverted boat-shaped roof made of plain red tiles, which has three planes and low eaves that sweep down at both the north and south ends. The exterior is constructed from random sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, and the south side is harled.

On the east elevation, there is a ground floor window in the center, with a bipartite window on the first floor set within a masonry projection that is flanked by tile-hung half-gables. The west elevation incorporates a boundary wall and features a gable that mirrors the east elevation. The south elevation has a French window in the center, and there are high railings to the south, which include a gate and a decorative wrought iron panel at the southwest corner.
