Hedderwick

Hedderwick is a classical farmhouse built around 1865. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure arranged in an L-plan, featuring a single-storey service range at the re-entrant angle. The exterior is made of squared and snecked, stugged pink sandstone, accented with stugged grey ashlar dressings, rusticated quoins, a base course, and a moulded cornice. The rear two-storey wing is constructed from rubble sandstone with grey dressings.

On the south elevation, there is a raised central bay with quoins and a pediment, featuring a lugged door surround that frames a deep-set, fanlit panelled door. Flanking this entrance are tripartite windows with low cills at ground level, and there are windows on the first floor in each bay.

The west elevation continues from the south front and has three symmetrical windows, with two blind windows at ground level in the centre and one glazed window on the first floor to the right. The rear wing has two recessed bays with windows at both ground and first floor levels.

The east elevation is blank. The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern, with larger 4 and 8 panes in the tripartite windows. The slate roof features sweeping eaves with lead flashings, and there are ashlar stacks with moulded copings located at the centre of the south wing and at the wallheads with offsets.

An ashlar coped rubble quadrant is present on the east by south elevation.
