Description

The Walled Garden at Hedderwick Hill dates from the late 18th century and is constructed from random red rubble sandstone. It has a half trapezoid shape and is situated on sloping ground. The walls are approximately 21 feet high and feature ashlar coping. At the center of the northern side, there is a lean-to heating chamber, which is flanked by gateways, although the right gateway is blocked. The garden walls have rounded angles and some brick lining. There is an additional gateway at the center of the southern side. Notably, the wall has been partly demolished at the southeast corner.
