Description
The Walled Garden at Auchintoul dates from around 1800 and is constructed from squared and coursed granite ashlar. It measures approximately 90 meters by 90 meters and features shaped ashlar coping. The northern wall has a rubble exterior, and there is a central dividing wall within the garden. A large pointed arched gateway is located to the south, adorned with moulded architraves and set in an advanced panel with a corbel course. To the north, there is a ruinous pavilion that includes a large segmental arch.
In the center of the garden, there is a remounted sundial. This sundial is six-sided and facet-headed, with hollowed designs that include cups, hearts, trefoils, and triangles on a columnar shaft.
