Description

Moorpark is a farmhouse dated 1863, with later additions and alterations. It is a symmetrical, single-storey building with an attic, featuring a three-bay rectangular plan and a single-storey addition at the rear. The front and sides are constructed of tooled pink sandstone rubble, with tooled cream sandstone quoins and cream brick dressings, some of which are glazed. The rear is rendered. A brick string course runs beneath the eaves, complemented by a decorative frieze, corbelled eaves at the front, and mutulated eaves at the gable ends. The openings are segmental-arched and chamfered, with brick surrounds, timber mullions, and painted cills.

On the northwest (entrance) elevation, there is a timber panelled door at the center with a 4-pane fanlight above it, flanked by tripartite windows at ground level. A full-width geometric-patterned frieze is located above. The southwest (side) elevation features a gable end with a bipartite attic window offset to the left of center. To the right, a single-storey wing is recessed, containing a timber panelled door to the left and a window to the right. The southeast (rear) elevation has a blind elevation to the projecting wing, with a single window at ground level recessed to the outer left.

The building predominantly has 8-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and features stone-coped skews and beak skewputts. Brick-built apex stacks with various cans are also present. The interior was not seen in 1999.
