31, 33 Westgate, North Berwick

31 and 33 Westgate in North Berwick is an earlier to mid 19th century symmetrical house featuring three bays, two storeys, and an attic. It underwent significant additions in 1915 by the office of R Rowand Anderson. The front is constructed of rubble painted droved ashlar with painted ashlar dressings.

On the northeast elevation, there is a projecting shop front with a recessed central doorway and a marble base course. The timber frontage includes plate glass windows and a plain fascia. The first floor has canted, three-light windows in the outer bays, which are surrounded by moulded surrounds and a cornice that continues with the eaves cornice. There are two larger flat-roofed timber dormers with pediments, along with a smaller dormer in the centre.

At the rear, there is a flat-roofed extension with plain raised skews and gable head stacks. The roof is slated, and the windows feature a small-pane glazing pattern.
