Description

Earlier/mid 19th century. Single storey symmetrical,

U-plan range, originally of 6 farm cottages. Rubble red

sandstone with droved ashlar dressings. Crowsteps to S

gables.

S ELEVATION: 16-bay with 4-centred arched pend at centre

in advanced, gabled, finialled bay. Formerly 2, 3-bay

cottages to each side, (2 doors now blocked). Advanced

gabled outer bays with narrow windows, blind arrow slits

in gablehead with apex stacks.

N ELEVATION: flat-roofed modern additions.

E AND W ELEVATIONS: 6-bay, formed of 2, 3-bay

symmetrical cottages each with door at centre, flanked by

small lights to outer sides and near square windows.

Modern plate glass windows to square openings. Harled

and lined as ashlar ridge and end stacks. Slate roofs.
