Description

Cedar Grove is a two-storey house built around 1905, featuring a square plan and a single-storey wing. The exterior is constructed from squared and snecked Rattlebag masonry, accented with red ashlar dressings and a band course. The windows have chamfered edges, and the building has raised quoins.

On the east elevation, the central doorway has a roll-moulded surround and an ogee lintel, with a small heart-shaped light above the door. There are small windows on either side, and brick piers support a timber balcony that spans the central and right bays, accessible via an architraved doorway. The left bays are gabled and feature two flat-roofed, splayed oriels with boarded aprons, along with a blank panel in the gable head.

The south elevation has gabled left bays, with a five-light architraved window at ground level and a seven-light window above, featuring a splayed and aproned window in the center. To the right, there is a flat-roofed, full-height canted six-light bay.

The north elevation displays an M-shaped gable with irregular openings and a single-storey wing to the outer right. The casement windows have small-pane upper panels. The roof is covered with green slates, has swept eaves with simple barge boarding, and decorative ridge tiles. The chimney pots are retained on moulded copings.

Inside, the house features pine panelled doors with moulded architraves, a coved ceiling in the bedroom, and timber stairs with a balustrade.
