Description
Dated 1872. Single storey symmetrical terraced group of 3, 3-bay farm cottages. Stugged, sqaured and snecked warm red sandstone; ashlar dressings; cill course, stone mullions and hoodmoulds to E elevation.
E ELEVATION; 9-bay. Timber bracketted piended canopy to doorway at centre, flanked by tripartite windows; bays flanking again, gabled and advanced, with 4-light windows and panels at apex (that to right dated 1872). Further doorways in penultimate bays, without canopies, and bipartite windows in outer bays.
N AND S ELEVATIONS: each with low gabled coal-shed projecting at centre.
E ELEVATION: catslide projections to each cottage, extended later with harled porch additions.
Large square-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Strip fanlights to doorways. End and mutual gable stacks with moulded caps. Purple slates; timber baregboards. Nos 3 and 4 with regrettable double glazed double swing windows, modern dormer and velux windows (1990)
