Pencaet Workshop, Lempockswell Road, Wester Pencaitland

Pencaet Workshop, located on Lempockswell Road in Wester Pencaitland, was designed by A Murray Hardie around 1925. This single-storey building features a symmetrical design with a frontage made of red sandstone rubble and ashlar dressings, while the sides and rear are harled.

The east elevation has seven bays, with three advanced bays at the center that have a catslide roof. The entrance bay features a semi-circular gable that breaks the eaves and includes a blank panel. The wide doorway has a roll-moulded surround and two-leaf doors, with tripartite rows of windows flanking it under the eaves. The recessed penultimate bays each contain large and tall timber bipartite windows that break the eaves in a piend roof, while the outer bays have smaller timber bipartite windows.

On the west elevation, there are five timber mullioned bipartite windows and a lean-to porch at the outer left. The north elevation is blank with a raised chimney breast, and the south elevation features a Venetian window. The building has small-pane glazing patterns in its sash and case windows, coped skews, flattened red pantiles, and ventilators.
