Old Bakehouse, 4 Bridge End, East Linton

The Old Bakehouse, located at 4 Bridge End in East Linton, dates from the mid to late 18th century. This two-storey, three-bay building was originally a bakehouse and features a central projecting wing at the rear, constructed on sloping ground.

The west elevation faces Bridge End. A former doorway to the left of the center has been blocked and converted into a window, while there is another window to the right. The outer bays at ground level also contain windows, and there are three windows on the first floor. The north gable is harled and includes a window on the ground floor to the left. There are remains of an oven attached to the building at ground level.

Access to the rear wing is from Mill Wynd, which features a doorway with a window to the right. The building has sash and case windows, primarily with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with red pantiles, has straight skews, and features harled gable end stacks, along with a brick stack at the rear wing.
