4 Manor Place, High Street, Aberlady

This is a mid-19th century, two-storey house with an attic. The gable faces the Main Street. The house is constructed of coursed, stugged ashlar with a base course, a band course, and hoodmoulds above the first and second-floor windows. Later alterations were made to the ground floor, including the addition of a door to the outer left, leading to the adjoining property at number 2. The ground floor has two windows to the right. The first floor has a bipartite window (two windows separated by a stone mullion), and there is a single window above in the attic. The windows are sash and case, with a 12-pane glazing pattern on the ground floor, four panes on the first floor, and four panes in the attic. The roof is covered with grey slates, featuring coped skews and stacks.

The house adjoins numbers 1 and 2 Manor Place to the west, and is listed in consideration of its context within the group. Number 2, which is situated to the rear of number 1, is listed separately. An Ordnance Survey map of Haddingtonshire from 1854 provides additional reference material.
