Description
This is a circa 1800 house situated on High Street, Aberlady, within an irregular terrace. A single bay was later added, featuring a carriage arch. The house is constructed of whitewashed rubble, with ground floor windows that have been altered. Originally, there were two doorways at the centre of the three-bay section, now flanked by shop windows. The first floor has three windows, and the outer bays are topped by two piended attic dormers. To the right is a depressed carriage arch leading to a double door entrance, with a window above and a canted, piend-roofed dormer in the attic. The windows are sash and case, with various glazing patterns. The main house has a roof of renewed red pantiles, while the added bay is covered with grey slates. The building has coped end stacks. The statutory address is The Quill Gallery, Aberlady Main Street. An Ordnance Survey map of Haddingtonshire from 1854 shows the building.
