Sycamore Lodge, Beveridge Row, Belhaven, Dunbar

Sycamore Lodge is a single-storey cottage located on Beveridge Row in Belhaven, Dunbar, built in 1867. Originally a school, the building features random sandstone construction with stugged ashlar dressings.

The entrance front has a projecting gabled porch with coping and skewputts, flanked by side windows and two additional windows to the left. There is a paired window in an advanced gable to the right, which includes circular louvred openings in a square dated panel at the gable head.

On the north elevation, the gabled eastern end has paired windows, with the left window altered to serve as a door, and louvred openings similar to those on the entrance front. To the right, there are two large, well-spaced windows.

The sash windows feature a small-pane glazing pattern. The roof is slate, swept at the eaves, with simple barge boarding and timber brackets. A brick ridge stack is present, along with decorative wrought-iron gable finials.
