Description

10 Seafield Crescent in Belhaven is a group of three linked blocks of council houses designed in the Arts and Crafts style by J A W Grant, Edinburgh, in 1939. The crescent features 10 two-storey houses, with nine containing three apartments each and one containing four. The exterior is harled, with a 12-pane glazing pattern and steeply pitched slate roofs that sweep at the eaves. Harled ridge stacks are present, and the original doors have been retained, featuring small upper panels.

The main terrace's front has nine recessed bays with a central arched entrance that has voussoired detailing. The ground floor includes tripartite windows flanking paired doors. Gabled dormers on the first floor break the eaves, with small four-pane lights located under the eaves above the doors. The advanced gabled ends each have two ground floor windows and one first floor window. The rear elevation is simple, with a continuous roof and first floor windows that break the eaves under the swept roofs.

The pavilions are connected to the curved terrace by mutual single-storey porches and a covered pend. They are L-shaped, with three bays facing the green, and feature similar detailing to the main terrace. The outer gables have asymmetrical openings.
