Charnwood, 22 Duke Street, Belhaven, Dunbar

Charnwood is a symmetrical three-bay house built around 1800, located at 22 Duke Street in Belhaven, Dunbar. The exterior features a combination of rubble, rendered surfaces, and incised ashlar with raised and painted plain margins.

The entrance front has an advanced simple pilastered doorpiece with panelled double doors and a 12-pane glazing pattern. The house is topped with a slate roof that includes rendered gable stacks and raised coping. Both the north and south gables have windows, and there is a line of an earlier abutting building visible on the east rear front.

Inside, the house includes window shutters, a wrought-iron stair balustrade, and archways in the hall. Additionally, there is a rubble boundary wall surrounding the property.
