52 Victoria Road, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch

52 Victoria Road in Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, is a building dating from around 1880, attributed to Robert Turnbull of Thomson & Turnbull. This two-storey structure features a Thomsonesque Greek design and is constructed of ashlar stone, although the adjacent No 50 is painted. The building has four windows, with curved bows at each end. It is topped with a cornice that has bracket and rope moulding, along with slate roofs that include finials over the bows and a platform on the main roof. The first-floor window surrounds and the band above the ground floor showcase incised stellar detail. The central entrance features paired doorcases with decorative balconies and finials above round-arched keyblocked entrances, which are flanked by pilasters and volutes. The original gatepiers remain intact.
