Description

This building, located at 84-92 Miller Street in Glasgow, was likely designed by Robert Turnbull around 1877. It is a four-storey and basement warehouse with a symmetrical seven-bay front, reflecting the style of Alexander Thomson. The exterior is finished in ashlar, painted below the first floor. The ground floor features pilasters and an entrance at the south, leading to an interior stair that ascends to the raised ground floor. The entrance includes a two-leaf panelled door with a fanlight above.

On the first floor, the windows are also pilastered and adorned with entablatures and acroteria. The second-floor windows have bracketed cills, and the upper parts of the windows display Thomsonesque lugged discs, with architraves that connect to create a continuous stepped band. A cornice serves as the cill course for the third-floor architraved windows, complemented by an entablature and a main cornice above.

The building features plate-glass glazing patterns in the sash and case windows, along with wrought-iron grilles on the basement windows.
