Description
This commercial building, located at 207 Ingram Street in Glasgow, was constructed around 1875 and is designed in a Renaissance style. It was formerly home to Miss Cranston's Lunch and Tea Rooms and was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh between 1900 and 1912. The building is four storeys tall with an attic and features ten bays facing Ingram Street and eleven bays on Miller Street. It is made of ashlar stone, with a channelled design at the first floor.
The west bay and the return bay on Miller Street are slightly set forward, showcasing giant Corinthian pilasters above the second floor and tripartite windows on each storey. The second-floor windows are framed with architraves, consoled cornices, and blind balustrades. The main cornice is decorated with modillions and consoles. The building has pedimented dormers and wallhead stacks that are connected by a balustrade. The angle bay features a French roof, although the ironwork is now missing, and the roof is covered with slates. The sash and case windows have a plate-glass glazing pattern.
