Description

14 Lainshaw Street is a former bank and manager's house, likely built in the late 19th century. This symmetrical, three-storey, three-bay classical building is currently unused as of 2008. It features ashlar stonework with ornamental raised margins and channelled quoins, while the rear is constructed of rubble. The building has a base course, cill course, and cornice, with a tall, panelled, and corniced parapet above the first floor.

On the ground floor, there is a central tripartite window. The first-floor windows have moulded reveals and basket-arches, each adorned with a delicate carved motif above. The top-floor windows are designed as wallhead attic windows with segmental-arched pediments featuring disc finials. Additionally, there is small teardrop motif decoration on the ground floor.

At the rear, there is a wide, two-windowed gabled wallhead dormer with an apex stack, and a round-headed pair of windows at the gablehead. The upper storeys predominantly feature four-pane timber sash and case windows, while the ground floor windows are boarded. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are ashlar gablehead stacks.
