Description
8 Vennel Street in Stewarton is a former granary built around 1870. This two-storey building features five bays and is constructed from squared and coursed, stugged yellow sandstone, which has raised margins and chamfered openings. The side and rear are made of rubble sandstone.
The ground floor has an off-centre door opening, which is currently boarded, along with two windows to the right and another boarded door opening on the outer right. On the outer left, there is a segmental-arched pend that leads to the rear of the building. The first floor has five single windows, and there are cast-iron lintels above the pend at the rear and the loft opening above.
Most of the windows are boarded up, and the building has a piended roof covered with grey slates.
