Description
The Strathclyde Regional Supplies Department, located at 14 New Bridge Street in Cumnock, was built in 1831. This building features a rectangular plan with an unusual three-bay ashlar classical west facade facing the tanyard. The central entrance bay is raised and adorned with an entablature, and it has Tudor hoodmoulds over a straight-headed and splayed doorpiece, along with two-light windows that include lattice glazing. The northern window is blocked, while the southern window is partly built up. The flanks of the building are constructed from squared rubble and also have three bays, with arched upper windows and a slated piended roof.
