The Ridges, 458 Perth Road, Dundee

The Ridges is a house located at 458 Perth Road in Dundee, designed by Thoms and Wilkie in the late 1920s. This asymmetrical, two-storey building features a harled exterior and gabled roofs.

On the south elevation, there are two prominent gables with two-storey, five-light bow windows, which have ground floor transoms and are supported by rubble plinths. A linking verandah connects the front, with the main door positioned between cross windows and a four-light dormer above. The right section of the house is set back and includes bipartite windows, with two on the ground floor and one that breaks the eaves.

The side elevations feature piend-roofed dormers that also break the eaves. There is a canted bay on the west side, while the main entrance is located on the gabled north elevation. The house is topped with piended slate roofs that have overhanging eaves and three brick chimney stacks, which are exposed at the top and integrated into the slope of the roof.
