307 Perth Road, Dundee

307 Perth Road in Dundee is a two-storey and attic terrace of four houses, designed by Ireland and MacLaren in 1881. The front of the building is made of ashlar stone, while the sides and rear are constructed from rubble.

The south elevation is symmetrical, featuring tripartite doorpieces topped with bracketted blind pierced parapets. Paired canted bays extend through both floors, and the main cornice and Gothic-style parapet are interrupted by round-headed dormers. The roof is a French pavilion style, covered with fish-scale slates and topped with a lead cap.

On the west elevation, there is a single-bay return with a bipartite window on the ground floor and an altered first-floor window from the early 20th century that accommodates an unusual bracketted oriel. The main gable includes two tall stair windows with stepped hoodmoulds, and service wings extend to the rear. The roofs are slate, and there are corniced ashlar ridge stacks. The windows are sash and case with a single-pane glazing pattern.

Inside, the houses feature plaster cornices and marble fireplaces. For instance, number 309 has an anaglypta dado in the living room and a Victorian panelled bathroom with a mirror-surround and shower cabinet. The property is bordered by low boundary walls, partially cast-iron railed, with square ashlar gatepiers.
