243 Perth Road, Dundee

243 Perth Road in Dundee is a two-storey terrace of nine houses, built around 1875 by Ireland and Maclaren. The front of the houses is made of ashlar stone, while the sides and rear are constructed from rubble. Some of the houses have been painted. The windows and doors on the south elevation have simple architraves.

On the south elevation, each house is marked by pilaster strips and features a two-bay design with a canted bay that extends through both floors. The ground floor has a corniced bay and a plain entrance beneath a single window. There is a main cornice and a blocking course. Houses numbered 243 to 255 are arranged symmetrically, with paired entrances and paired canted bays, while houses 239 and 241 disrupt this rhythm. House number 257 has a single four-light canted bay.

The west elevation of house number 257 is built with coursed rubble and has ashlar dressings. It features an advanced bay on the left and a re-entrant angle with a pilastered and corniced porch, along with a stair window above. The east elevation is gabled. The roof is piended gabled with a platform and slate covering, featuring a steeper pitch on house number 249, which has round-headed dormers. House number 239 has a modern dormer. The buildings have ashlar ridge stacks.

The windows are sash and case with a two-pane glazing pattern. The boundary walls are built from rubble, topped with simple ashlar gateposts.
