Binrock, 456 Perth Road, Dundee

Binrock is a late 18th century U-plan villa that was remodeled by David Neave. It was raised from one to two stories around 1820 and extended to the rear in the mid-19th century. The building underwent alterations in 1924 by Mills and Shepherd, which included moving the principal entrance from the east to the west elevations and remodeling the interior. The exterior features coursed rubble with margined angles and windows.

On the south elevation, there are three bays and a three-window bow that was formed around 1820, with enlarged windows and a heightened structure. The west elevation was originally three bays, with some openings rearranged. A round-arched fan-lit tripartite doorway was inserted in 1924. The northwest wing is two bays by one bay, Victorian in style, and was altered from a longer wing, featuring a corniced doorpiece and a shouldered stack.

The east elevation has three bays, with four first-floor windows and one later addition, and it extends to the north by four bays. There is a piend-roofed former porch at the position of the original entrance, with a narrow door to the left and a modern square brick stack to the right. An outside stair with a modern porch leads to the gable.

Inside, the villa was remodeled in 1924 around an atrium light well, and there is a carved stone fireplace in the living room.
